Benefits of meditation

About meditation and why it's good for you

Meditation is now part of the mainstream

If you look at some of the world’s most famous meditators - The Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey to name a few - from Entertainers to CEO’s to Hedge Fund Managers and you’ll realise this isn’t a fly-by-night fad.

Meditation is practiced across all levels of society. It’s taught in schools, hospitals and businesses large and small.

The reason that meditation is sweeping the western world is simple: It’s easy to do, can be practiced every day, and it’s good for you.

Also known as mindfulness ( I think to take some of the ‘this is too hippie for me’ fear out of it),  meditation doesn’t require a degree or level of physical talent to do it. It’s available to anyone at any level of experience - you just need the willingness to give it a go, and a few minutes every day.

The benefits of including meditation in your daily life are many:

A healthy mind

Meditation calms the mind’s brain waves, bringing it into an Alpha state that promotes healing and wellbeing.

Other benefits include:

  • Lower stress and anxiety levels

  • Improved emotional stability

  • Greater creativity

  • Improved levels of happiness

  • Developing your intuition

  • New perspectives on problem solving

  • Improved focus and concentration through relaxation

  • Improved clarity of thought and overall peace of mind

  • Greater balance within your mental and emotional being.

A healthy body

Regular meditation has been shown to have physical benefits:

  • Manages blood pressure.

  • Lowers the levels of blood lactate that can cause  anxiety.

  • Prevents tension-related pain, such as, headaches, ulcers, and  insomnia.

  • Promotes serotonin production to improve mood

  • Supports immune system health .

  • Increases your energy level by improving your mental health.

A more peaceful life

Restore your emotional balance - meditation is an essential tool calming you when you feel overwhelmed, anxious or emotionally shut down. It cleanses and nourishes you from within.

Find that deep inner peace you crave - meditating plugs you into a space of vastness, calm and joy which you take with you into your daily life. Through this positive energy you bring greater peace and harmony to yourself, family, workplace - in fact, everywhere.

Transform yourself - Mahatma Gandhi (another famous meditator) said, ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world.' Meditation can be the catalyst for true and permanent personal transformation. It provides you with the building blocks for self knowledge and the tools to change your life and set it on the course you desire.

So why wouldn’t you give it a go?
